Bleeding typical, I finally sign up for a broadband contract and suddenly signal strength in the Bedroom Beautiful gets a boost and it turns out I would have been fine piggybacking! Pah. Ah well, better to be the master of your own steed, I suppose. Though why does the Shiny go click whenever I log into anything?

Anyway, Red Rita - certainly a worthwhile addition to the Finny P pub roster, and stupidly cheap by London standards. A black mark for replacing a good music vid channel (Mika, 'Irreplaceable', Just Jack) with footballism, but at least there didn't seem to be any ruffians watching the ruddy thing.

It is, in a way, but compared to prior incarnation as the Duke of Northumberland, a cheap ho is a definite improvement. And dudem, cheaper than Wetherspoon's without the 'characterful' clientele - has to be a good thing.

It is on Fonthill Road (parallel to Stroud Green Road), not far from the station, and this strikes me as a doupleplusgood policy idea.

Fonthill Road indeed. It's quite light and airy (my theory: they're aiming for the Fonthill Road clothes-shopping crowd, who might not normally frequent pubs, but could be more easily tempted by somewhere that feels like a cafe) and, like I say, stupidly cheap. I'd certainly recommend giving it a go.

Indeed. I like Red Rita a lot. Unfortunately it is often spoiled by very loud football/rubbish tv but it is cheap and the bar staff are very nice.
