Aspiring theatricals: the Old Vic is running something called Theatre Idol

THE PITCH
We are putting out a search for the best budding
actors, directors, producers and writers aged between
18-25 living within Greater London.

THE PRIZE
The 50 finalists will be invited to create a new play
for performance on the hallowed Old Vic stage in July,
in front of an audience of over 1000 eager
theatre-goers.

THE HITCH
They'll have just 24 hours preparation time.

THE PAY-BACK
Support and advice will be available from the senior
management team at The Old Vic and a host of other
theatre professionals.

I can remember Radford and bits of Lenton being very dodgy, and a pub with a particularly bad reputation (but a very good jukebox) just opposite the old Odeon.

Only knowing one song by each band, I always found it very hard to believe that Camper van Beethoven evolved into Cracker who did 'Low'.
