I can't believe nobody discussed pangolins on my post yesterday.

ADMIRE THE PANGOLIN.

I mainly spent last night with Woken Furies*, but took breaks to watch this week's particularly sitcom (but good) Shameless, and to nip down to see Drinkme. It was a novel but pleasant experience to make a concert part of a 90-minute break, rather than the focus of an evening; they were very good, and seemed more rock and more sleazy than I've seen them before. I particularly liked Ruth's playing air guitar while wearing a guitar, and I still want to steal Julian's jacket.

Poor bloody Speakerboxxx; by any reasonable standards it's a very good hip hop album, but because it came out packaged with an exceptionally good album, it has rather faded from the public's minds.

I know some people think it's a complacent cliche to say that there's no longer any difference between the Conservatives and New Labour, but Newsnight interviewed a Populus pollster who'd been presenting people with policies on key issues such as health, education and immigration, and then asking which party's they were. The conclusion would seem to be that the complacent cliche is true.

After the previous night's unutterably dull dream, last night was a definite upswing; I encountered an alien pantheon in its early stages, and realised that there would still be niches for mortals to ascend into if one could do something sufficiently spectacular. Except somehow I managed to balls it up and shoot [livejournal.com profile] publicansdecoy in the head by mistake instead. Incidentally, if anyone is planning to shoot [livejournal.com profile] publicansdecoy in the head, I was surprised that I needed a second bullet to finish him off. Just so you know.

*Including a reworking of the Biblical story of the woman taken in adultery ("Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"), which vastly improves on the original by having the Jesus-analogue shoot a couple of fundamentalists and then lez up with the rescued woman.

Only because you're a rubbish shot.

The first shot was a bit off to one side, true. I also shot a ging, but upon waking realised I didn't actually know who he was.

While drunk the other day I came up with a new and highly amusing way of pronouncing the word ginger, but I can't remember it now. this troubles me greatly.

Maybe these two instances of ging forgetting are linked?

Bloody hell, I dreamt about running you all over in my car at a picnic last night. I think [livejournal.com profile] publicansdecoy ended up smashed into a tree. No-one talked to me much when we went to the pub afterwards, so I sat on a beach towel.

Wow. Did any other readers dream about injuring [livejournal.com profile] publicansdecoy last night?

No but he was Frank-N-Furter in the Rocky Horror dream I had.

Sorry, I was distracted by the burning issue of Paw Paw's mediocrity. Pangolins are indeed great.

I tried to get a pangolin icon before posting this, but couldn't find a picture the right size, and for some reason LJ won't grab google thumbnails.

Pangolins are marvellous. As are giant anteaters. And lorises. (Lorii?)

Indeed, though they're more loveably hapless-looking than WALKING FVCKING TANK.

The Giant Pangolin's tongue is about 2 feet (61 cm) long, and internally is anchored to the pangolin's hip bones.

Bet they make friends easily.

How much longer did you stay?

Until about half way through the next band. Rock and roll.

I had a dream about surfing the SB board last night. It was a dream and thus the board was the same, only different, but I can't remember the details sadly.

i used to have a game for my zx spectrum called pangolins. and it was like animal vegetable mineral except only with animals. it was not a very exciting game.

Whereas a modern combat game where one plays a pangolin stalking around trashing anthills would be ACE.
