York rules out pro-gay primate
Feb. 17th, 2005 11:30 amI can't believe nobody discussed pangolins on my post yesterday.

ADMIRE THE PANGOLIN.
I mainly spent last night with Woken Furies*, but took breaks to watch this week's particularly sitcom (but good) Shameless, and to nip down to see Drinkme. It was a novel but pleasant experience to make a concert part of a 90-minute break, rather than the focus of an evening; they were very good, and seemed more rock and more sleazy than I've seen them before. I particularly liked Ruth's playing air guitar while wearing a guitar, and I still want to steal Julian's jacket.
Poor bloody Speakerboxxx; by any reasonable standards it's a very good hip hop album, but because it came out packaged with an exceptionally good album, it has rather faded from the public's minds.
I know some people think it's a complacent cliche to say that there's no longer any difference between the Conservatives and New Labour, but Newsnight interviewed a Populus pollster who'd been presenting people with policies on key issues such as health, education and immigration, and then asking which party's they were. The conclusion would seem to be that the complacent cliche is true.
After the previous night's unutterably dull dream, last night was a definite upswing; I encountered an alien pantheon in its early stages, and realised that there would still be niches for mortals to ascend into if one could do something sufficiently spectacular. Except somehow I managed to balls it up and shoot
publicansdecoy in the head by mistake instead. Incidentally, if anyone is planning to shoot
publicansdecoy in the head, I was surprised that I needed a second bullet to finish him off. Just so you know.
*Including a reworking of the Biblical story of the woman taken in adultery ("Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"), which vastly improves on the original by having the Jesus-analogue shoot a couple of fundamentalists and then lez up with the rescued woman.
