Jerry Springer - the Opera is on BBC2 at 10pm tomorrow, unless of course they cave in to the demands of 15,000 morons such as the fellow in that picture. Be sure to watch or tape it!
There are probably Islamic fundamentalists looking at that picture, laughing and thinking "they've not got a clue, have they. I bet we could get that programme off the air in 5 minutes". I'm not going to watch it, mind, because I'm not interested and it clashes with Match Of The Day.
Stewart Lee used to explain how he was happy to diss Christianity but not Islam on the grounds that Christians wouldn't kill him. It's a fair point but still a little cowardly.
Anyway, Sikhs are the new Islamic fundamentalists.
"It wouldn't have got where it is if it was about blasphemy and language," the former Starsky and Hutch actor told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
The show includes a nappy-wearing Jesus saying he is "a bit gay" while a reported total of 8,000 obscenities was reached by adding every swear word sung by each member of the 27-strong chorus.
So if it isn't about blasphemy and language, then....?
did anyone see confessed christian David Soul on the BBC breakfast show this morning, essentially saying accepted anglo-christian imagery is a bit daft and jesus was black, and that being his defence?! go confessed christian David Soul, way to incense the silly complainers even more!
I really don't get the whole Jesus was black thing, on account of: don't people understand that Bethlehem is in Israel, not Africa? and that people in that part of the world are, by and large, not black?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAPE IT FOR ME> I will give yuo money or whatever you desire, I MUST HAVE IT ON TAPE. UI am not at home. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE>

Date: 2005-01-07 03:44 pm (UTC)I was worried that this might be a publicity stunt. After all, have you seen anything about the terrible controversy from a non-BBC source?

Date: 2005-01-07 03:56 pm (UTC)And the multiple-counting of obscenities by the complainants is kinda pathetic.

Date: 2005-01-07 04:10 pm (UTC)Though they still don't have a case - on the same grounds I could object to all the license money of mine the BBC spend on sport and Songs of Praise.
