Yes, that Intrepid Fox thing I was plugging earlier? Postponed 'til next week, apparently. So don't go tonight, there's good chaps.

From Neil Gaiman's journal: And we thought Clause 28 was bad.
"Allen said no state funds should be used to pay for materials that foster homosexuality. He said that would include nonfiction books that suggest homosexuality is acceptable and fiction novels with gay characters. "
I'm so glad I don't live in the US.

Am currently debating whether to drop in on the works Saturnalia bash and claim some/all of my eight free drinks (oh, the generosity) before B Movie.

Frankly I think he'd be better off stopping people writing books with criminals in them. Their actions are illegal outside of the bookworld SO WHY SHOULD THEY BE LEGAL IN BOOK FORM eh?

Also, what you said about living in the US. (Their bread is terrible as for that tosh that passes as chocolate).

The fun part is convincing people which novels contain homosexuality.

It amuses me when people accuse me of making things up about Dumas, for example.

And no Branston Pickle.
Or decent cheese.

Apparently there is a very nice Stilton produced somewhere in upstate NY but I don't believe it because it was mentioned in the same breath as PEARS and frankly I don't approve of the fruit/cheese hybrid.

Yes, Hershey? HerSH1TE more like.

I now have a new target for my annoyance, though - some Portugese DJ who thinks he can play London under the alias Alex S. Not in my bloody listings he can't!

Go on.

DO IT.

Hmmm...a bit of a generalisation there, as wensleydale/cranberry and stilton/apricot are both jolly nice. But I'm not too keen on pears in any context.

I beg to differ. They're ROTTEN. I don't really like cheese mixing with sweet things apart from in CHEESECAKE where it rawks sawks. But actual cheese itself should stay unsullied with fruit. You can eat fruit WITH it if you must (eg apple and strong cheddar = NUM) but you don't want chunks of minging fruit actually INSIDE your cheese, unless you are MAD.

See also: those Greeks threatening to sue over the bisexuality in Alexander. Maybe they should travel back in time and try to stop Alexander gaying up instead? You know, throw women in front of him as he tries to dive on his catamite, that sort of thing.

I hope he dies, gets to Heaven, realises that the apocryphal gospels were right, and then spends the rest of eternity being s0d0mised by Jesus.

Wouldn't that just result in bisexual orgies?
Or did they not have Port back then?

Dude, it's not like these are the only variants of wensleydale or stilton available!

Also: deep fried camembert with cranberry sauce. NUMNUMNUM. Or even its prole variant, cheese toasties with jam.

You'd hope so, wouldn't you? If there's one thing sweeter than seeing the plans of evil men fail, it's seeing them backfire utterly.

Yes but that is where you add the sweet things and they are not an inherent part of the cheese! Variants of cheese are fine but cheese pre-mixed with lumps of fruit is ABOMINABLE!

I want a deep fried camenbert.

Cor. Blimey. They have it as a starter (!) in the Prospect of Whitby. I have always wanted one but was afeared of the results of doing so.

Tonight if there are Lola drinks on there might be camenbert. But if there are no drinks, no biggy I will sate my cravings with curry.
