I'd been meaning to watch Thirteen for some time. Clearly its topic - the intense friendships of teenage girls - is one I only ever saw from the outside, but from that perspective it seemed very true. I suspect to people who've been on the inside of that, and who are more fond than me of a vaguely Larry Clark style of film-making, it could become a favourite film. It might also help if one is less distracted than I was by the cohabitation of Mental Billy from Six Feet Under, International Rescue's Alan Tracy and evil Nina Myers AKA Sarah Clarke yes I'm looking at you in a whole new light Atommick.
After that, I engaged in research which brought me to the conclusion that reading McSweeney's Mammoth Treasury of Thrilling Tales while alone in the gloaming is possibly a poor plan, and had to visit Viriconium to soothe my nerves.
I hadn't even noticed that The Shield had been settling into a slightly too comfortable status quo until last night when they blew it all out of the water. Plus - poor bloody Dutch gets dragged through the emotional dirt again. Annoyingly, Five have now decided to move their best programme to Saturday night. Pillocks. Not that I know why I bother talking about The Shield on here, none of you seem to watch it. You all suck.
But what I really want to talk about is ( the New York Dolls )
