Apparently it does improve after the opening. Then sags again. Then improves again (even more). Which, to be fair, describes a lot of first seasons of good shows.

Not all autobiographical comics are ghastly. Phonogram and The Birth Caul and Alec are all autobiographical. They just refrain from also being REALLY FUCKING BORING.
