I am sick of burlesque in general for the same reasons you give but, you know what, the final act, Lalla Morte, she was absolutely magical. Enchanting, mysterious, beautiful, astonishing... & her being half naked seemed almost irrelevant. As it should be!

The bar fiasco got better/worse later on in that various punters were roped into being extra hands, meaning everyone got served pretty quickly and often getting triple spirits for £1 or vintage wine for same price as house etc.
