The Battlestar flashbacks tend to be things they need you to know for later episodes but which would've held up the previous storyline, had they included them in the timeline. Though we've got another coming in the fall. I mean Autumn. When surely it's too late. But I guess they're going to tell us lots of things we didn't know that will know us go "Oh!"
