Oh no, the fifties episode was one of the best! And, one of the ones which was most thoroughly and intrinsically 'adult', as opposed to sniggeringly and pointlessly naughty. Try to make that kid-suitable and you'd gut it. And yes, how exactly would you make 'Countrycide' kid-suitable? You can't. So either the kids get a disjoined show, or the parent series is compromised. Neither seems desirable.
