Come to think of it, weren't there scarecrow robots working for the Time Lords in one of the mad old comic strips? Hmmm... TBH, I'm sceptical of the whole idea of retooling a (very good) book as a TV story, but we shall see.
Fair point also about the star, I hadn't even thought of that - the other stories I mentioned were both yer proper large-scale stellar manipulation, so the stars had more reason to be irked.
