Well, quite - there are a hundred different types of fictional vampire too, and it profits nobody to say "Oh but in The Hunger they don't have fangs so they don't count." Hell, I think I recall something or other where zombies were basically the Tesco Value version of vampires - but they were still identifiably zombies and vampires.
