Will Eisner's dead.

He was about the only pre-Alan Moore writer in comics whose work I enjoyed reading.

Still, at least I found out about it in less than four days from the announcement, unlike Susan Sontag.

I know the tsunami was probably the biggest natural disaster since Santorini blew (Tunguska excluded on grounds of no one actually being there), but for all that it has tinged my week with mortal thoughts, I am beginning to tire of not getting any news about anything else.

I don't really know anything about Susan Sontag, other than that she used to present World Of Sport.

Did she present Ski Sontag too?

Man, I can't get that tune out of my head now!!!

If I didn;t know better I'd say that it was a conspiracy to make sure the news isn;t full of people complaining about TfL's hideous price hikes and Mr. Tony Blair getting freebies off tobacco magnates and the fact that information is now free!

Yes but whenever I try to sing it I get The Horse of The Year Show in my head and whenever I try to hear The Horse of the Year Show I get Ski Sunday. And now, inexplicably, the themetune to 'Wildtrack'

The Beeb site does have a little bit about memos from Blair to Sven Footballist, but let's face it, that Act is useless. Did you see how one department 'suddenly realised' that lots of sensitive files were potentially 'contaminated with asbestos', so couldn't be released?

Theme From Wildtrack was a great tune, wasn't it. I don't know why they don't play it at Stay Beautiful. If they did I'd be there for sure. Oh, I might have answered my own question.

It als segues quite nicely into the theme tune to 'Black Beauty'. Black Beauty! Skiing! The very thought!

'Covered with coffee' more like. Besides, if in doubt, shred. I am confused though, on one Radio 4 programme they said that councils would not reveal how much they paid for certain services because the agreements and price arrangements they have with contractors are 'commercially sensitive' whereas another programme joyfully declared that you would be able to extract this information at will.

You know Hannibal taking the elephants over the Alps? His method for getting them down the other side was pretty much snowboarding, compared to which a skiing horse seems positively practical.

Everyone will try to keep as much as they can secret on bullsh1t grounds like that. "Oh no, if we let you see this paper on which the information is printed, you'll know how much we spend on paper and that's commercially sensitive'.

Meanwhile, even my beloved Newsnight mails to say that tonight's whole programme will concern human angles on the catastrophe. Gah!

There is a resturant in my street called 'Wildtrack'. Everytime Matt and I walk past it we are often to be found going 'Doo do do do de doo doo doo doo de doo doo doo.' I love the theme from Wildtrack...I would make it an integral part of my set if I were a disc jockey at one of London's trendy nite spots.

thing is, noone will actually know what the craic is with it until some case law develops, so everything at the moment is pure speculation.

Well, exactly. The Act, for all its touted greatness, is basically a toothless rewrite of the previous law allowing people to reveal only whatever they happen to feel like revealing. "My God, it says here that Bermondsey Council spent £8.4m on 'General depravity, mountains of drugs and whores' in 1999!" Not bloody likely.

where was that country there was a war in again...bahrain? kuwait? no wait - its iraq isn't it? Where did Iraq disappear to then? Or are there no golden haired British tourist children there?

I don't care about the humans, what's happened to the fish population? Meanwhile my boss is in The Maldives sunning herself quite happily, oblivious whereas we at home assume they are under 3 feet of water and rubble. They'd help the region far more by showing the areas that weren't affected and making sure tourists keep going there.

Theme From Tales Of The Unexpected is a good one as well, because everyone dances like in the opening credits. Lovely stuff.

One bit I find incomprehensible is the number of Scandinavians killed. 'Possibly 150' is negligible against their 'Over 4000'
