Fvcking Manics fan.
I finished two books last night, bade farewell to two worlds, but I don't think I shall miss them. Secret Identity is, like most of Kurt Busiek's work, good but not as good as everyone seems to think it is. And Iris Murdoch's The Flight from the Enchanter was just puzzling. The first two Amazon reviews are headed 'Frustrating' and 'What is this book about?', both sentiments with which I can sympathise. If anyone has read it and would care to explain what the ending is supposed to mean, please share. I think I've figured it out but if so it was both oblique and insubstantial.
Alongside the ID card bill, that moronic Ayatollah's Charter of a law about 'incitement to religious hatred' has gone the way of John Paul II. I love elections! Must remember to book May 6th off at some point.
(My current prediction is that Labour will survive, just, but will take enough of a beating to trigger a leadership battle by 2006 or 7. The other two will both make enough gains to start looking like serious contenders next time round. And then things get really interesting)
I love it when real science starts sounding like science fiction science.
People may think comics fans are geeks, but I work with people who read books about amplifiers.
