...but then, I suppose these days it's been a while since Pope Davros said anything at all, hasn't it? Heh. So beautiful that in the same week Terri Schiavo was finally allowed to die, the world's leading advocate of needlessly agonising deaths is himself doing such a good job of showing people what a pointlessly, painfully prolonged life looks like. And whenever you hear any universalising moron say something like 'whatever their faith, I'm sure everyone agrees he is a great man', remember me, because I certainly don't. I just wish I believed in a Hell to which I could condemn his rotten soul when he finally gets this over with.

Of course, if the news sites had any guts they'd have already announced his death as an April Fool. It's the one day of the year when the press are entitled to lie, so why do we always get some obvious twaddle rather than 'Tony Blair Found In Crack Den With Underage Boys' or 'Suitcase Nuke Destroys Liverpool'?

[livejournal.com profile] culturedgoat's band were playing at [livejournal.com profile] culturedgoat's work leaving bash last night. You'd expect [livejournal.com profile] culturedgoat to play with them, right? That aside, Handbags at Dawn make much more sense live than on CD, and when he sings their singer really does have a lovely voice, especially on the unaccompanied song which I take to be a traditional Irish ballad or similar. And the lyric "all my friends are lesbians" was always going to buy them some leeway with me.

Top Tip: Never ask more than one of the Big Questions in a single text, because it will clearly take more than 160 characters to get answers.

I picked up Matt Goss' autobiography from the Free Box yesterday. I'm still not quite sure why.
