War with New York's on the horizon, then. And when it happens which way is Paulie going to turn? I always used to like him but last series and especially this, he's been a real prick. And Chris in rehab - at Eleuthera, I note. How I love that word, cantankerous old farts notwithstanding.

The new Marilyn Manson album is, perhaps inevitably, far from the radical deviation he's promised in interviews. It's another 16 songs of MM bile, with a few circus organs to give it a hint of cabaret/Cabaret. Not that that's a bad thing, but he will need to watch out that he doesn't turn into the Rolling Stones.
Also, for some reason my copy is missing Baboon Rape Party. How irksome.

2000AD really is very good at the moment. Even Judge Dredd, a character I'd thought was entirely played out and should be put on the same bus to the Fictional Retirement Home as Ali G, has had some great stories of late. And Snow/Tiger is essentially the plausible 24. It's great that one can still find top-notch comics in small local newsagents.

Note with interest and scorn an article in Metro about research 'proving' that experiences of haunting are caused by variations in an area's magnetic field. Have these dickwits not considered that perhaps the haunting is causing the magnetic variations instead? As idiotic as the study which concluded that cats, unlike dogs, don't wait at the door for their owner because they are dimmer than the dog and so do not know they are imminent. Clearly anyone who's ever *met* a cat knows it's just that they would never demean themselves so.

And I promise fewer 'two neurons collided and had a baby thought' [copyright Serious K] entries today.
